Weeping White Spruce 'Pendula'
Picea glauca 'Pendula' is a dramatic and graceful evergreen conifer, forming a very narrow, upright columnar habit with strongly weeping branches that hang close to the trunk, creating a unique, sculptural form. Its attractive blue-green needles add to its refined appearance. This makes it an outstanding specimen tree for a strong vertical accent or tight spaces in UK gardens. It is a slow to moderate grower, eventually reaching an ultimate height of 6-10 metres with a spread of 1-1.5 metres. This spruce thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, acidic soils. It is fully hardy, rated H7 by the RHS. Its distinctive weeping habit provides strong year-round interest and a sophisticated presence.
