Bamboo 'Robert Young'

A splendid, vigorous running bamboo celebrated for its large, bright golden-yellow culms, often streaked with green, creating a vibrant display. It can reach an impressive ultimate height of 6-9m and spreads enthusiastically. It is very hardy in the UK, rated H5. Flowering is a rare event. It thrives in full sun to partial shade in fertile, moist, well-drained soil, where the culm colour is most intense. An excellent choice for a dramatic specimen or a tall, colourful screen, but requires robust root barrier management.
