Green Glaucous Bamboo

A vigorous, running bamboo with attractive, upright culms that start green and can develop a subtle glaucous (bluish-white) bloom, especially when young, giving it a refined appearance. It can reach an ultimate height of 5-8m and spreads enthusiastically if not contained. It is very hardy in the UK, rated H5. Flowering is rare. It prefers full sun to partial shade in moist, well-drained soil. Its dense, vigorous growth makes it an excellent choice for a tall evergreen screen or for creating a bamboo grove in larger gardens.
