Chinese Timber Bamboo

This magnificent running bamboo is highly prized for its incredibly thick, strong, and relatively short internode culms, which mature to a beautiful very dark green. It is one of the hardiest of the large timber bamboos, capable of reaching 6-9m in height with a spread of 3-5m. 'Chinese Timber Bamboo' is hardy in the UK (H5) and prefers full sun to partial shade with consistently moist, fertile, well-drained soil. A robust root barrier is essential. Its impressive culm size and dense growth make it an outstanding specimen, an effective privacy screen, or a dramatic windbreak in larger gardens.
