Nuda Bamboo

Phyllostachys nuda, or Nuda Bamboo, is an exceptionally hardy and vigorous running bamboo suitable for the coldest parts of the UK. It is cherished for its strong, upright, dark green culms that emerge with a powdery white bloom, giving them a subtle blue tint before maturing to a glossy dark green. Reaching 4-6 metres, it forms a dense, impressive screen or windbreak. Due to its strong running habit, root barriers are essential for containing its spread. 'Nuda' is incredibly tolerant, thriving in full sun to partial shade in a wide range of soils, including heavier clays, and is one of the most cold-hardy Phyllostachys. Flowering is rare. Its robustness and deep green foliage provide year-round structure and excellent privacy.
