Black Stem Bamboo 'Punctata'

'Punctata' is a highly decorative running bamboo, prized for its culms that mature from green to a deep, glossy black, often with subtle green flecks visible under strong light. It creates a bold, architectural feature, typically growing to 4-7m in height with a spread of 2-4m. This bamboo is fully hardy in the UK (H5) and prefers a sheltered spot in full sun to partial shade with fertile, well-drained soil. A robust root barrier is essential to manage its spread. 'Punctata' offers superb year-round drama and contrast, a sophisticated choice for a modern garden or a vibrant backdrop for other plantings.
