Holochrysa Bamboo 'Allgold'

A truly stunning ornamental bamboo, 'Allgold' is a cultivar of the Timber Bamboo that features brilliant, bright yellow culms from the moment they emerge. Unlike some yellow-caned varieties, this one does not have a green stripe in the sulcus, resulting in a pure, glowing gold effect. Occasionally, a few random green stripes may appear, adding to its charm. The leaves are a vibrant green, providing a sharp contrast against the golden stems. In the UK, it creates a luminous focal point, especially when the lower culms are stripped of their branches to show off the colour. It is a running bamboo with an upright habit, becoming arching at the top. It is hardy to H5 but requires a warm, sheltered spot in the garden to reach its full potential. It thrives in rich, moist soil and benefits from plenty of organic matter. A root barrier is highly recommended.
