Moss Phlox 'Bavaria'

Phlox subulata 'Bavaria' is a high-performance alpine that creates a spectacular floral carpet in the spring garden. This evergreen perennial is known for its exceptionally dense, moss-like growth habit, with fine, needle-like foliage that remains dark green throughout the year. In April and May, the plant is completely smothered in white flowers, each featuring a very distinct and striking deep lavender-blue eye at the centre. The bicolour effect is very eye-catching and sets 'Bavaria' apart from many of the monochromatic Phlox cultivars. It is extremely hardy and vigorous, making it an ideal choice for covering large areas, spilling over walls, or acting as a vibrant ground cover in a sunny border. In the UK, it is highly reliable and easy to grow, provided it has full sun and a free-draining soil. To maintain its neat look and encourage a dense mat, it is beneficial to give it a light trim after the flowers have faded, which prevents it from becoming too loose or leggy.碎
