Scarlet Runner Bean 'Painted Lady'

A vigorous climbing annual, the Scarlet Runner Bean produces abundant bright scarlet flowers, often bicoloured red and white, followed by edible green pods. It's an excellent choice for a productive and decorative screen or for growing up obelisks in cottage gardens. The beans themselves can be eaten young as green beans or left to mature for dried pulses.
