Foxglove Tree
A fast-growing, deciduous tree with an upright, spreading habit, capable of reaching 10-15m in height with a similar spread. Noted for its very large, heart-shaped leaves and spectacular upward-facing, trumpet-shaped, pale violet flowers that appear in late spring before the leaves emerge. The blooms are fragrant and resemble foxgloves, hence the common name. Suitable for H5 hardiness, it thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, tolerating a range of soil types including clay. Can be coppiced annually for larger leaves. Provides excellent late spring colour and exotic foliage, attracting pollinators. A majestic specimen tree for larger gardens or parks, with a relatively open crown.
