Jewel Plant 'Blue Haze'
x Pachyveria 'Blue Haze' is a beautiful intergeneric hybrid between Pachyphytum and Echeveria. It inherits the chubby, rounded leaves of the former and the elegant rosette form of the latter. The foliage is a stunning pale blue-grey with a distinct powdery coating (farina), and the tips often blush with a delicate lilac-pink when exposed to bright light or cool temperatures. In the UK, this succulent is a popular choice for summer patio containers or indoor windowsills, holding an H2 hardiness rating. It produces nodding, bell-shaped flowers in shades of peach and yellow during late spring. To keep the plant looking its best, it should be handled carefully to avoid fingerprinting the powdery coating on the leaves. It requires a very sunny spot to maintain its compact shape and vibrant colour. Ensure a gritty, fast-draining soil and water sparingly, particularly during the winter months when the plant is less active.
