Osmanthus 'Burkwoodii'

Osmanthus 'Burkwoodii' is a superb evergreen shrub, forming a dense, formal hedge, highly valued for its intense fragrance in UK gardens. Its neat, dark green, glossy leaves provide excellent year-round structure. In mid-spring, it produces masses of small, highly perfumed white flowers, reminiscent of jasmine or gardenia, filling the air with their scent. Left untrimmed, it can reach an ultimate height and spread of 3m, but it clips beautifully into a formal hedge from 1-2.5m. It prefers a sheltered position in full sun to partial shade and moist, well-drained soil. A reliable, low-maintenance evergreen with an RHS AGM.
