Water Lily 'Joey Tomocik'
'Joey Tomocik' is widely regarded as one of the best yellow water lilies for the UK garden. It is celebrated for its exceptionally vivid, lemon-yellow flowers that are more intense than many other yellow cultivars. The blooms are cup-shaped, held slightly above the water surface, and can reach 12-15cm across. A unique feature of this variety is its foliage; the olive-green leaves are often beautifully flecked and mottled with maroon-brown, providing interest even when the plant is not in flower. It is a moderately vigorous lily that flowers reliably throughout the season if given a sunny position. It should be planted at a depth of 40cm to 80cm in a large aquatic basket. It is fully hardy and will go dormant over winter. Its bright, sunny colour is particularly effective at lighting up the darker corners of a pond surface.
