Mulberry 'Illinois Everbearing'
'Illinois Everbearing' is a hybrid mulberry known for its exceptional productivity and flavour, forming a small to medium-sized tree of 5-8m in height and spread. It produces an extended crop of elongated, purplish-black, sweet, juicy fruits over several weeks from July to September. This hardy cultivar (H6) tolerates a range of soils once established, preferring full sun. While less common in the UK, it's gaining popularity for its prolific fruiting. The green catkin-like flowers appear in May, offering some interest, followed by the rewarding fruit display.
