White Mulberry

The White Mulberry is a fast-growing, medium-sized tree, typically reaching 6-10m in height and spread. While its fruits are less flavourful than the Black Mulberry, they are still edible, sweet, and can range in colour from white to pink or even black when ripe, appearing from July to September. It's a hardy (H6) and adaptable tree, tolerating a wide range of soils and conditions, though it performs best in full sun. The green, inconspicuous flowers appear in May. Historically significant for sericulture (silkworm rearing), it also offers a graceful habit and good ornamental value.
