White Mulberry 'Morus alba'
The White Mulberry, Morus alba, is an attractive and productive fruit tree suitable for UK gardens, though often overshadowed by its black counterpart. It produces abundant crops of sweet, delicate, white to pinkish fruits that, while less intensely flavoured than black mulberries, are delightful in their own right and are excellent for eating fresh or drying. The tree forms a medium-sized, spreading specimen with handsome foliage, and some varieties develop attractive gnarled bark with age. It is hardy and adaptable, tolerating a range of soil conditions as long as they are well-drained. Prefers a sunny, sheltered position for best fruit production.
