Japanese Silver Grass 'Graziella'

'Graziella' is highly regarded by UK horticulturists for its refined habit and early flowering time compared to many other Miscanthus cultivars. It produces very narrow, elegant green leaves with a prominent white midrib, forming a graceful, fountain-like clump. In late summer, it is among the first of the silver grasses to bloom, sending up large, feathery white flower plumes that sit well above the foliage. These plumes emerge with a slight silvery-pink tint before maturing to a brilliant, shimmering white that catches the low autumn light beautifully. One of its best features is its autumn colour, as the foliage often turns shades of rich copper and orange before fading to gold for the winter. It is an exceptionally sturdy plant that maintains its form throughout the winter months, providing valuable structure and interest until it is cut back in early spring. It is very hardy and performs best in a sunny spot with moisture-retentive but well-drained soil.
