Chilean Jasmine

Mandevilla laxa, commonly known as Chilean Jasmine, is a beautiful and vigorous deciduous climber, highly prized for its intensely fragrant, trumpet-shaped white flowers. These exquisite blooms appear in profusion from mid-summer until the first frosts, filling the air with a sweet, gardenia-like scent. While generally grown as a tender perennial in the UK, it can survive outdoors in very sheltered, mild gardens, especially if given winter protection. It is more commonly grown in conservatories or as a patio plant, brought indoors for winter. It requires a sunny, sheltered spot and well-drained, fertile soil. Reaching up to 4-5 meters, it needs support and can twine gracefully.
