Japanese Crab Apple Pachyclada Group 'Brouwers Beauty'

'Brouwers Beauty' is a highly attractive and robust cultivar of the Japanese crab apple, known for its graceful, slightly arching branches and prolific fruiting. This deciduous tree reaches about 5-6 metres in height and spread. In late spring, it is covered in a dense mass of pale pink-to-white flowers that are a major draw for bees. The most outstanding feature, however, is the crop of tiny, golden-yellow fruits that appear in late summer and persist through autumn and often well into winter. These miniature 'apples' are highly ornamental and loved by birds. The leaves are often lobed and turn a pleasant yellow in the autumn. It is fully hardy (H6) and shows good resistance to common fruit tree diseases. It is a superb choice for a wildlife-friendly garden or as a standalone ornamental specimen. It is tolerant of most soil conditions but will flower and fruit most heavily in a sunny position. Its elegant habit makes it an excellent choice for a focal point.
