Oregon Grape 'Winter Sun'

A magnificent evergreen shrub, 'Winter Sun' is an RHS AGM cultivar, highly prized for its striking architectural form and spectacular winter flowering. It produces dramatic, upright racemes of bright yellow, intensely fragrant flowers from late autumn into early spring, providing a vital nectar source for early pollinators. The large, spiny, dark green leaves are arranged in tiers, creating a bold statement. It forms an upright, stately shrub, typically reaching 3-5 metres in height and 2-3 metres in spread. Hardy (H5), it prefers partial shade and moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil, sheltered from cold winds.
