Honeysuckle 'Gold Flame'

'Gold Flame' is a stunning deciduous to semi-evergreen climber, valued for its exceptionally long flowering period and intoxicating fragrance. It produces clusters of tubular flowers that are a vivid deep pink on the outside and bright creamy-yellow on the inside, creating a bi-colour effect that appears to glow at dusk. The scent is strongest in the evening, making it an excellent choice for planting near a patio or seating area. It is a twining climber that requires support from a trellis or wires and can reach a height of 4-6 metres. It is generally easy to grow and less prone to aphids than some other honeysuckle varieties. While it prefers its roots to be kept cool and moist, the upper parts of the plant thrive in full sun, which also helps to stimulate flower production. This hybrid is fully hardy and provides a wonderful source of nectar for moths and bees in the UK garden.
