Lovage
Lovage is a vigorous perennial herb with edible leaves, stems, and seeds, all possessing a strong celery-like flavour. It forms a substantial clump, reaching 1.5-2 metres in height and 1 metre in spread. Umbels of greenish-yellow flowers appear in summer, attracting beneficial insects. Lovage thrives in a full sun to partial shade position and rich, moist, well-drained soil. H7. A majestic plant for the herb garden, its young leaves are excellent in soups and stews, and its hollow stems can be candied.
