English Lavender 'Little Lottie'
'Little Lottie' is a charming, dwarf cultivar of English Lavender, perfect for those with limited space or for low-level edging. It forms a very compact, rounded mound of evergreen, silver-grey foliage, typically reaching only 30cm in height. In early to mid-summer, it produces short spikes of delicate, pale pink flowers that have a subtle, sweet fragrance. This variety is less common than the purple cultivars, offering a soft, romantic alternative in the garden. Like all English lavenders, it is hardy (H5) but demands full sun and very free-draining, preferably alkaline soil. It is particularly well-suited to growing in pots on a sunny patio or in a rockery where its small stature can be appreciated. To keep the plant neat and prevent woodiness, it should be trimmed back after flowering, taking care not to cut into old wood. The flowers are attractive to bees and can be dried for use in potpourri or culinary applications.
Sun: Full sun.
Soil: Well-drained, neutral to alkaline soil.
Hardiness: H5 — down to −15°C.
Flowering: Jun, Jul.
