Bay Laurel

A classic evergreen shrub or small tree, cherished for its aromatic, glossy, dark green leaves, which are widely used in cooking. It forms a dense, upright shrub, eventually reaching 4-7 metres in height and 2-4 metres in spread if left unpruned, though it's commonly trimmed into formal shapes or topiary. Small, inconspicuous yellow-green flowers appear in spring, followed by black berries on female plants. Hardy (H4) and tolerant of shade and a range of well- drained soils, it’s a versatile plant for containers, hedging, or as a specimen, providing structure and culinary value.
