Paddle Plant

The Paddle Plant, or Flapjack, is a striking succulent known for its large, round, fleshy leaves that are typically grey-green with vibrant red margins, especially when exposed to direct sunlight or cooler temperatures. The leaves are arranged in an attractive rosette formation and resemble oversized paddles. In late winter to early spring, mature plants may produce a tall flower spike bearing terminal clusters of fragrant, yellow, tubular flowers. While grown as a tender perennial in the UK, it makes a fantastic architectural statement in pots, either indoors in a bright spot or outdoors during the frost-free summer months. It requires well-drained soil and minimal watering.
