Juniper 'Green Carpet'

Juniperus communis 'Green Carpet' is an excellent prostrate evergreen conifer, forming a dense, wide-spreading, low mat of bright green, soft, needle-like foliage. This makes it a superb choice for ground cover, rock gardens, or trailing over banks and walls in UK gardens, where it effectively suppresses weeds. It is a vigorous grower, typically reaching an ultimate height of 0.1-0.2 metres with a spread of 1.5-2.5 metres. This resilient juniper thrives in full sun and well-drained, even poor, neutral to alkaline soils. It is exceptionally hardy, rated H7 by the RHS, and remarkably tolerant of drought and exposed conditions. It provides year-round fresh green colour and a low-maintenance solution for challenging areas.
