Chilean wine palm
The Chilean Wine Palm is a magnificent and immensely long-lived palm, renowned for its massive, stately trunk and impressive crown of pinnate leaves, making it a true specimen plant for the most sheltered and mildest UK gardens. While slow-growing, it is one of the hardiest feather palms available, capable of withstanding considerable cold once established. It demands full sun and perfectly well-drained soil. Due to its eventual immense size and slow growth, it's a significant long-term investment. Suited to large, architectural garden designs in very favourable microclimates, where it can eventually form an unparalleled focal point.
