Pink Jasmine

Jasminum x stephanense is a vigorous, deciduous climber that is a rare find for those seeking a hardy pink-flowered jasmine for the UK. A hybrid between J. beesianum and J. officinale, it produces clusters of small, pale pink, star-shaped flowers that emit a delicate, sweet fragrance throughout the summer. The foliage is an attractive dull green, and young leaves often emerge with a slight cream variegation or flush of pink. It is a fast-growing plant that uses twining stems to climb, making it ideal for covering large fences, trellis work, or old tree stumps. While it is hardy throughout most of the UK, it performs best when planted against a warm, south or west-facing wall where the wood can ripen in the summer sun. It requires minimal maintenance other than a light prune after flowering to keep it within its allotted space. It is generally pest and disease-free.

Sun: Full sun to partial shade.

Soil: Well-drained, fertile soil.
