Stonecrop 'Purple Emperor'
Hylotelephium telephium 'Purple Emperor' is a striking perennial, highly valued for its dramatic dark foliage and late-season flowers. Its succulent leaves emerge in spring with a deep plum-purple hue, holding their colour well throughout the season. In late summer and autumn, sturdy stems are topped with dense, flattened clusters of dusky pink flowers, which gradually mature to a rich russet shade, providing invaluable nectar for bees and butterflies. It forms a compact, upright clump, typically growing to 40-50cm in height and spread. 'Purple Emperor' thrives in full sun and well-drained soil, showing excellent drought tolerance. It's an RHS AGM winner and fully hardy (H7).
