Cliff Stonecrop 'Coca-Cola'
This Japanese stonecrop is a decumbent, mound-forming succulent that is prized for its attractive glaucous, blue-grey foliage. The plant reaches a height of roughly 15cm and spreads laterally, making it an excellent groundcover or trailing plant for the edges of pots. In late summer and early autumn, it is smothered in dense, flat clusters of vibrant rose-pink, star-shaped flowers that are highly attractive to bees and butterflies. The cultivar 'Coca-Cola' is noted for its particularly rich pink tones and slightly darker foliage compared to the species. Rated at H5, it is fully hardy across most of the UK and deciduous, losing its leaves in winter before regrowing fresh shoots in spring. It thrives in moderately fertile, well-drained soil and prefers a sunny position to maintain its compact habit and intense flower colour. It is a reliable performer in coastal gardens and urban balconies alike.
