Climbing Hydrangea 'Take a Chance'

Hydrangea anomala 'Take a Chance' is a delightful variegated climbing hydrangea, offering year-round interest in a UK garden. Its heart-shaped leaves are splashed with creamy-yellow, brightening shady spots, and turn lovely yellow tones in autumn. In early to mid-summer, it produces beautiful flattened clusters of white lacecap flowers. This self-clinging deciduous climber uses aerial roots to attach to surfaces, reaching up to 6-8 meters, making it perfect for north-facing walls and shady fences. It prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. 'Take a Chance' is a more compact grower than the species, providing both floral and foliage interest, and an elegant solution for challenging shaded areas. Its variegation can be more pronounced in brighter shade.
