Candy Cane Bamboo 'Damarapa'

One of the most beautiful colored-cane bamboos for mild UK gardens. 'Damarapa' is a clumping bamboo that features stunning yellow canes striped with varying widths of bright green. In some conditions, the canes can also show pinkish or reddish tints. It is a delicate and graceful plant with very fine, soft foliage. However, it is less hardy (H3/H4) than многие other bamboos and is best suited to the milder coastal areas of the UK or very sheltered urban microclimates. It makes a magnificent container plant that can be moved into a greenhouse or conservatory during harsh winters. It grows to about 3-4 metres and has an arching habit. It prefers a position in partial shade and must be kept moist. For those in the right climate, it is a show-stopping specimen that adds a true touch of the exotic to the landscape.
