Himalayan Weeping Bamboo

Himalayacalamus falconeri, often called Himalayan Weeping Bamboo, is an exquisite, clump-forming bamboo celebrated for its distinctive slender, arching culms that emerge a powdery blue-white, maturing to yellow-green. This elegant bamboo reaches 3-5 metres, forming an open, graceful arching habit, creating a soft, ethereal presence in the garden. It prefers a sheltered position in partial shade and consistently moist, well-drained soil, enriched with organic matter. While hardy (H4-H5) in milder UK regions, it may require winter protection in colder areas to protect its delicate new shoots. Flowering is extremely rare. Its unique colouration and graceful form make it an excellent specimen plant, particularly effective near water features or as a backdrop for other shade-loving plants.
