Hairy Alum Root 'Binoche'

Heuchera villosa 'Binoche' is one of the darkest and most robust Heucheras available for UK gardens. It features incredible, large, slightly fuzzy leaves that are a deep, glossy maroon-black, maintaining their intense dark colour even in shade. This cultivar is derived from the villosa species, which is known for its greater tolerance of heat and humidity compared to other Heuchera hybrids, making it very reliable in variable British summers. It forms a substantial, weed-suppressing mound and is evergreen in most UK winters. In late summer, it produces delicate, airy sprays of small creamy-white flowers on tall stems that contrast beautifully with the dark foliage. 'Binoche' is an excellent choice for adding depth and drama to the front of a border or for use in large-scale ground cover plantings. It thrives in well-drained, fertile soil and is relatively resistant to vine weevil. It performs best in partial shade, where its foliage remains most vibrant.
