Moon Cactus 'Hibotan'

The Moon Cactus is a colourful and eye-catching grafted cactus, popular in the UK for its vibrant, pigment-rich top (scion) in shades of red, yellow, orange, or pink, contrasting with a green rootstock. This vibrant top lacks chlorophyll and relies on the green rootstock for survival. It's a small, globular cactus, perfect for a bright windowsill or as part of a succulent collection. It requires bright, indirect light and well-drained cactus compost. Water sparingly, allowing the compost to dry out completely between waterings, especially in winter. While the scion rarely flowers, the rootstock may occasionally produce small blooms. Protect from direct scorching sun and frost.

Sun: Partial shade.

Soil: Well-drained cactus compost.

Hardiness: H1C.

Flowering: Jun, Jul, Aug.
