Knotted Crane's-bill 'Silverwood'

A superb choice for the most challenging spots in a UK garden, Geranium nodosum 'Silverwood' thrives where many others fail, including dry shade under established trees. This cultivar is prized for its luminous, pure white flowers with delicately notched petals, which appear over a long period from late spring through to the end of summer. The foliage is equally attractive, consisting of glossy, divided green leaves that reflect any available light in Morley environments. It forms a dense, weed-suppressing clump and spreads gently via rhizomes without becoming invasive. Fully hardy across the UK, it is particularly useful for brightening woodland borders or filling gaps beneath large shrubs. It is remarkably drought-tolerant once established and requires very little maintenance, though cutting it back after the first flush of flowers can encourage a fresh crop of foliage and a second wave of blooms. It is a reliable, understated performer for low-maintenance schemes.
