Rock cranesbill 'White-Ness'

Geranium macrorrhizum 'White-Ness' is a superb, low-maintenance groundcover perennial that is particularly well-suited for woodland edges and shaded borders. Unlike many other forms of this species, 'White-Ness' features pure, clean white flowers without the usual pink or purple tint, and its sepals are light green rather than red. This gives the plant a very fresh and luminous appearance in shaded areas. The aromatic, light green, lobed foliage forms a dense, weed-suppressing mat about 30cm high. In autumn, the leaves often turn attractive shades of red and bronze. It is incredibly robust and fully hardy (H7), making it one of the most reliable plants for dry shade in the UK. It spreads via thick surface rhizomes and is very easy to propagate. It is drought-tolerant once established and generally avoided by slugs and snails. This cultivar is an excellent choice for planting under deciduous trees where it will happily thrive and flower in late spring and early summer, providing a tidy and attractive carpet. 120-180 words.
