Wintergreen 'Purity'

Gaultheria mucronata 'Purity' is a compact, evergreen shrub ideal for ground cover, particularly in acidic soils. Its small, dark green leaves provide year-round interest. While it produces inconspicuous white flowers in spring, its main appeal lies in the abundant, large, pure white berries that persist from autumn well into winter, creating a stunning display against the dark foliage. This slow-growing shrub thrives in cool, moist, shady conditions, making it perfect for woodland gardens or underplanting rhododendrons and camellias in UK gardens. It requires cross-pollination to produce berries effectively.
