Little Warty Gasteria 'Variegata'

This variegated form of Gasteria gracilis is a highly decorative, slow-growing succulent. It features thick, strap-shaped leaves that are arranged in a rosette or sometimes a fan shape. The leaves are a beautiful mix of dark green and creamy-yellow longitudinal stripes, all covered with the characteristic 'warty' white tubercles that give the species its common name. In spring, it produces arching spikes of bicoloured, pink and green pendant flowers. Rated H2, it is primarily an indoor or greenhouse plant in the UK, but it can be placed outside in a shaded spot during the summer months. Gasterias are notably more shade-tolerant than many other succulents, making them perfect for rooms with less direct sunlight. They are tough, long-lived plants that require very little maintenance other than occasional watering when the soil is dry. This variegated cultivar is particularly prized by collectors for its bright, architectural foliage.
