Gasteraloe 'Flow'

Gasteraloe 'Flow' is a robust and highly attractive intergeneric hybrid between Gasteria and Aloe. It forms a tight, architectural rosette of thick, triangular leaves that are dark green and adorned with numerous small, white, raised bumps or dots. The leaves are very stiff and taper to a point, giving it the structural look of an Aloe but the compact, manageable size and shade-tolerance of a Gasteria. This makes it an exceptional choice for UK windowsills. It is tender (H2) and must be grown indoors. It is very easy to care for, coping well with the dry air of centrally heated homes. Bright, indirect light is ideal, as direct summer sun through glass may scorch the foliage. In spring or summer, it may produce a tall, slender flower spike with orange, tubular flowers. It is slow-growing and only needs repotting every few years into a gritty, well-draining cactus and succulent compost.

Sun: Partial shade.

Soil: Cactus and succulent compost with added grit.

Hardiness: H2 — down to 1°C.

Flowering: Apr, May, Jun.
