Fargesia Rufa 'Rufa'

Fargesia rufa, often called Rufa Bamboo, is an exceptionally popular and versatile non-invasive, clump-forming bamboo for various UK garden applications. It's celebrated for its graceful, arching culms that emerge reddish-brown, contrasting beautifully with its vibrant fresh green foliage. The new shoots are often a rusty red, adding seasonal interest. Reaching a manageable height of 2-3 metres, it forms a dense, upright clump perfect for hedging, screening, or as a specimen plant. 'Rufa' is very hardy (H6), tolerating temperatures down to -25°C, and thrives in partial shade with moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. It rarely flowers. Its excellent vigour, attractive appearance, and non-spreading nature make it a top choice for effortless evergreen presence.
