Bamboo 'Blue Fountain'

Fargesia nitida 'Blue Fountain' is a highly desirable non-invasive, clump-forming bamboo, cherished for its elegant, arching growth habit and attractive features. Its slender culms emerge a purplish-blue, maturing to a darker, almost black tone, creating a striking contrast with its delicate, narrow, dark green leaves. This cultivar offers a more pronounced blue tint than the species. Reaching 3-4 metres, it forms a dense, upright clump perfect for screens, specimen planting, or containers. 'Blue Fountain' is extremely hardy (H6), thriving in partial shade and moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Protection from strong winds and intense midday sun is beneficial. Flowering is rare. An excellent choice for adding refinement and year-round evergreen structure to UK gardens.
