Cloud Bamboo 'Jiuzhaigou 1'

'Jiuzhaigou 1' is a highly acclaimed clump-forming bamboo, celebrated for its unique culm colouration. The new culms emerge reddish-purple, maturing to shades of burgundy and orange, especially when exposed to good sunlight. It forms an elegant, upright clump, reaching 2-3m in height and 1-2m in spread. This bamboo is fully hardy in the UK (H5) and thrives in partial shade with consistently moist, well-drained soil. Unlike some bamboos, it maintains its attractive foliage through winter, providing year-round interest. 'Jiuzhaigou 1' is an excellent focal point, a non-invasive screen, or a vibrant addition to a mixed border. Its colourful culms are a true highlight.
