Crown of Thorns
Crown of Thorns is a truly resilient and colourful succulent shrub, known for its thorny stems and bright, long-lasting flowers (actually bracts). The vibrant bracts can be red, pink, yellow, or white, providing a cheerful splash of colour for much of the year, particularly in warmer months. Small, oval, green leaves appear along the stems. While a tender plant, it thrives indoors in UK homes in a sunny position, such as a south-facing window or conservatory. It requires well-drained compost and should be watered when the soil feels dry. Reduce watering in winter. Be aware that the milky sap can be irritating, so handle with care.
