Peruvian Old Man Cactus

The Peruvian Old Man Cactus is a striking columnar cactus, celebrated for its dense covering of long, silvery-white hairs that give it a distinguished, 'hairy' appearance, particularly at the apex. Beneath the wool, it has stout spines. This slow-growing cactus can eventually reach impressive heights in its native habitat, but in UK cultivation, it remains a manageable size for many years. It makes a superb specimen plant for a frost-free conservatory or a very bright, sunny room. It requires exceptionally well-drained cactus compost and bright light to maintain its protective hair. Water sparingly during the growing season and keep dry in winter. Protect from cold and damp.
