Sea Holly 'Jos Eijking'

One of the most intense and vibrantly coloured Sea Hollies available, 'Jos Eijking' is a standout perennial for its metallic, shimmering blue appearance. The plant produces architectural, cone-like flower heads surrounded by spiky, electric-blue bracts. The stems themselves also turn a brilliant blue as they mature. The foliage at the base is heart-shaped, leathery, and dark green with silvery veins. This cultivar is prized for its long-lasting colour and sturdy habit. It requires exceptionally well-drained soil and a position in full sun to thrive and develop its best colour. It is drought-tolerant and particularly well-suited to coastal gardens or gravel plantings. The flowers are excellent for cutting and are a magnet for bees. It is a deciduous perennial that should be left to stand through winter, as the skeletons look beautiful in frost. It brings a modern, structural edge to any planting scheme.
