Stork's Bill 'Bishops Form'

Erodium x variabile 'Bishop's Form' is a delightful, long-flowering alpine that is perfect for filling gaps in pavings, walls, or at the edge of a rockery. It forms a low, neat mound of attractively lobed, dark green leaves. From late spring right through to the first frosts of autumn, it produces a succession of five-petalled, saucer-shaped flowers of a vibrant rosy-pink, each delicately veined with darker magenta. This cultivar is particularly valued for its exceptionally long flowering period compared to many other alpines. It thrives in well-drained, gritty soil and basking in full sun. While it is hardy in most of the UK, it may struggle in very wet, heavy clay soils during winter, so ensuring sharp drainage is key. It is a sterile hybrid, meaning it won't self-seed around the garden, making it a well-behaved choice for small troughs or mixed alpine containers.
