Winter Heath 'Winter Beauty'
Erica carnea, commonly known as Winter Heath, is a low-growing, spreading evergreen shrub perfect for adding colour to the winter garden in the UK. This hardy plant typically reaches heights of 15-30cm and spreads to 45-60cm. It's renowned for its cheerful, bell-shaped flowers that bloom profusely from late autumn through to spring, providing a vital nectar source for early pollinators. Depending on the cultivar, flower colours range from white to various shades of pink and purple. It thrives in full sun to partial shade and prefers acidic to neutral, well-drained soil. Once established, it is relatively low maintenance and highly resilient, making it an excellent choice for ground cover, rockeries, or containers in almost all parts of the UK.
