Molded Wax Agave 'Lipstick'
This cultivar of Echeveria agavoides is prized for its sharp, triangular leaves that resemble an Agave, hence the species name. The 'Lipstick' variety features bright lime-green foliage with vivid, deep red margins that intensify when the plant is grown in bright light and cool temperatures. It forms a tight, stemless rosette that can reach 15-20cm in diameter. In spring and early summer, it produces elegant pinkish-red flowers with yellow tips on slender stalks. In the UK, it is generally treated as a houseplant or a conservatory specimen (H2), although it can be placed outside during the summer months to enhance its colour. It requires a very well-drained succulent mix and careful watering, allowing the soil to dry out completely between applications. Its geometric perfection and striking contrast make it a favourite for windowsill displays and summer container arrangements.
