Crested Buckler Fern

Dryopteris cristata, the Crested Buckler Fern, is an elegant and robust native fern, valued for its distinctive upright, narrow fronds that create a formal, architectural look. The fronds are a fresh, bright green and often have a subtle twisting quality, giving a crested effect at their tips. It forms a clump typically reaching 60-90cm in height and 45-60cm in spread. H6 hardy, it thrives in partial to full shade and consistently moist, humus-rich, acidic soil. It's particularly well-suited to boggy or damp woodland areas, adding structure and verdant beauty.
